Sheinbaum Dismisses Foreign Military Intervention in Mexico
Speaking at her routine morning briefing, Sheinbaum championed diplomatic engagement and binational partnership—anchored in joint accountability and absolute deference to territorial integrity—as the only viable path to defeating the drug trade.
Mexico holds an uncompromising, values-driven position while keeping communication lines with Washington fully operational, Sheinbaum emphasized.
"We prioritize dialogue above all else. We have our position, we have our principles, but we always seek dialogue with the United States government," she said.
She underscored that proper collaboration requires reinforcing diplomatic infrastructure and advancing pacts rooted in reciprocal respect and internationally recognized standards of partnership.
While Mexico accepts its obligations in confronting criminal syndicates, the United States must equally fulfill its duties by stopping weapons smuggling, narcotics circulation, and illicit financial operations inside its own borders, Sheinbaum emphasized.
